IS IT GREAT ART IF NO ONE REALIZES IT?

Pearls Before Breakfast – washingtonpost.com

This is an interesting experiment.  The Washington Post got a world-famous violinist to play outside a subway entrance like a street musician.  They videotaped people’s reaction to him for nearly an hour.

Call me crazy, but I think this raises some interesting questions.  This guy is considered best violinist alive today but most of the commuters ignored him and few gave him any money.  Are they Philistines or does the setting change the art?  Whoo, look at me acting all intellectual-like.
